Art is for all ages, so art lessons are too! Learn basic skills, elements of art, principles of design,various techniques, explore new media and all while having fun. Imagination and creativity reside in everyone and is just waiting to be expressed, so join in and sign up for a class. Jolene is a teacher with many years of experience. She is also caring and patient while striving to bring out the talent and individuality of each student.

Adult Watercolor Painting for beginners to intermediate level ;
Primarily for beginners, but also for anyone who wants to have fun painting and experiment with new techniques. In this 8 week course of classes, you will learn how to apply basic techniques along with some experimental works. It will primarily be a step by step follow the instructor kind of class, but you will have plenty of leeway to be creative in your own way. ( No repeat paintings from previous course; all new ones.) Come relax and create in this fun and friendly environment. It is sure to give your life and your creative side a boost. Watercolor is a wonderful / exciting medium for creating art which can capture whimsy as well as realistic detail and can be combined with other media if you like. Come give it a try!
Cost is $115. 00 ; which includes first day watercolor paper and some of the texturing and experimenting supplies. You will do two paintings and some practice exercises that day to give watercolor a try using basic techniques and some fun things.
Step by Step follow along
Cost $32.00 ...Materials such as paint, brushes, watercolor paper, and pallet will be provided for use during that class. Just bring an apron or cover up shirt if you wish to keep your cloths clean.
Please register or let me know at least 4 days in advance so that seating and supplies can be arranged for everyone.

6 Weeks Drawing Skills Class
Consecutive Wednesdays

Through a variety of methods, students will learn basic drawing skills using pencil, charcoal, and earth tone drawing sticks. Students will need to bring an "Ebony" pencil, kneaded eraser, and a set of earth tone drawing pastels, and an 11"x 14" drawing pad. Drawing boards are recommended but optional. Other sized paper, brown tone paper, fixative, and other materials will be provided.
Cost $112.00
There is a minimum number of 4 students for the class to make and a maximum number of 12.
Registration needs to be at least 5 days prior to beginning date for planning and materials.

Thursday Evenings Acrylic Painting
"Adult Acrylic Painting for Beginners and Intermediates" Step by step paint along: Landscape
June 17, 24, & July 1 (3 sessons)
5:30 - 8:00 PM location TBA
Students will follow along with the instructor as you paint the various stages of your painting in a step by step process. As you go through this process, there will be lessons on color mixing, color theory, value, and texture as well as principles of design. You will learn some fundamentals of how to compose an artwork as you progress as well as brush techniques. Becoming familiar with acrylic paint and its properties are an important part of the course but this will be a fun and exciting way to do it. This is a low stress way to bring out your creativity.
Cost: $ 95.00 Canvas is included in the price. There are some extra brushes available for use on site.
Students will need to purchase their paints, basic brushes, and a pallet. You will also need to bring apron, a rag, and a water container for your paint and brushes.

One Day Workshop- Acrylic Painting:

One Day Acrylic Painting Workshop: Landscape
This all day workshop will be a step-by-step; "watch the step shown in demonstration and then do what was shown in that step of the demonstration" Jolene will help you get the basic drawing and design down on canvas as needed. You may follow the reference from what Jolene is painting during the class or you may add to or vary it a bit with your own photos. Basics of design principles will be presented in an easy format and they will also be discussed as the painting progresses. This is also a great way to become familiar with acrylics as a painting media as well as a variety of mixing and brush techniques. The workshop is mainly designed for beginners or for those who want to see specifics of a painting through step-by-step, from start to finish, in a different way from what you may have done in past. We will be painting a tall waterfall in the mountains with some Autumn colors beginning to show, cliffs, trees, rocks, and rising mist. Cost is $98.00. Canvas /canvas board will be provided. Students will need to provide their own paint and brushes. I need to know how many will attend by at least 3 days prior to the workshop. Refunds and Policies:
Minimum Enrollment
Programs must meet minimum enrollment requirements. Full tuition refunds are given if a class or workshop is canceled due to not meeting the minimum enrollment.
Cancellation due to Weather A make-up is scheduled if a missed class day is due to inclement weather or teacher absence. You will be e-mailed to inform you of such an event as soon as the cancellation is known. It will also be posted on the FB page for Artist Jolene Clement. The make-up class is generally scheduled during the week after the last class meeting of the course or semester.
Please be aware that much goes into the planning , scheduling, and reserving long term time and space for a class.
Student cancellation
If a student needs to cancel after registering and making payment, the student must cancel in writing, (text, e-mail, or hard copy in writing).
Student cancellation time line;
· At least 1 week prior to the first meeting of class/camp/workshop/retreats: There is a full tuition refund less $15 nonrefundable processing fee per course/camp/workshop. From the time of the first day of class through the second class, full refund will be refunded if there is another student (not yet registered) to fill that space or a wait listed student to fill it.
· For a short course of 4 to 8 weeks, a refund of 45% will be given if a cancellation notice is received before the second class meeting. After that time there will be no refunds.
· For a weekly semester course, from the date of the first class through the date of the 3rd class of a semester course (12-15weeks), a refund of 30 % will be given. From the day after the third class through the 4th class, a refund of 25% will be given.
· After the fourth class of a semester course, there will be no refunds.
· For one day workshops or retreats, there will be no refunds unless a student cancellation notice is received prior to the 1 week preceding the date of the workshop.
Art Parties:
All parties require scheduling at least 7 days in advance (preferably 14 days). A deposit of $50 is required to secure your party. Parties cancelled more than 2 days before class will receive credit for scheduling a party at another time within 3 months. After this time, no credit can be given. ·
If we need to cancel or postpone a party due to instructor illness or inclement weather, you will be offer the option of full refund, a re-scheduling for the group, or store credit in the gallery which may be used towards the purchase of art work online at <wwwjolenesartplace.com> or in studio.
* After School Arts Program Cancellation Policy: If school is canceled due to weather or other reasons by the instructor, then the day’s program will also be canceled. With that type of cancellation, a make-up day will be offed.. In the event a make-up class is not available, students will be issued a daily credit to be applied to the student’s account which can be used towards a future class.
Absences;
Missed classes/camps/workshops due to student absence are not made up.
Children’s Classes Child Safety:
